TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)– A Florida Department of Law Enforcement employee is charged with sexual assault.
FDLE confirms Alex Ranzinger is a senior criminal justice information technician. Tallahassee police say they arrested Ranzinger at the Moon, a night club on Lafayette Street in Tallahassee, February 15 around 11:00 p.m.
“He was charged and taken to the Leon County Jail for sexual assault,” said Officer Dave Northway with the Tallahassee Police Department. “A victim approached one of our officers who was working there and told them that while she was on the dance floor she had been inappropriately touched by a male patron in the club.”
According to the arrest affidavit, there were multiple witnesses who saw Ranzinger assault the victim that night in the club before he was arrested.
An FDLE spokesperson says Ranzinger is on paid administrative leave pending an internal investigation. The case will now go to the state attorney’s office, who will determine if they want to move forward.
