TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The infamous “Do Not Call” list is once again Florida’s top consumer complaint.
The much maligned anti-telemarketing initiative is joined by fuel and communications in the list of the top three most complained-about products and services.
The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services added 13,367 phone numbers to the Florida Do Not Call list last month. The agency also received 3,927 written complaints in the month of January, as well as 26,708 calls and 453 emails requesting consumer assistance.
The top three calls to the agency’s 1-800-HELP-FLA hotline were related to solicitations from charities, motor vehicle issues, and landlord/tenant disputes.
