15 members, including six judges, four attorneys and five non-lawyers.
How does the JQC work?
An investigative panel of members reviews complaints from the public and inquiries initiated by the JQC itself. If probable cause is found, a hearing panel holds a trial. The hearing panel makes a recommendation to the Florida Supreme Court that makes a final decision.
What are the rules?
Florida’s Code of Judicial Conduct applies to all sitting judges.
What are the consequences for a finding of violations?
The Supreme Court can discipline a judge with a public reprimand, a fine, suspension from office or removal from office.
