After several months of no official leadership, the Midway city council voted in a new interim police chief for the city.

Jerome Turner will now be Midway’s head of police.

The previous chief, Terron Lindsey, was put on administrative leave after being arrested. He was charged with misconduct in office and petit theft.

Lindsey has another court hearing on April 10.

Council members say they are waiting to determine if he is convicted or not. Until then, turner will lead the city’s police department.
