– Valdosta, Ga. — March 5, 2013 –

The bills would allow the arming of school teachers as well as permit guns in bars and churches. They would also prevent the government from releasing information on the identity of people who have permits to carry a gun. The legislation was introduced by Republican Representative Rick Jasperse.

One Lowndes County resident, David Hayashi, said “I think the idea of allowing guns in certain places such as churches and schools might help if there were to be an incident in the future. There’s only so much time that can transpire between the amount of people that are hurt if you don’t have first responders there and if you do.”

The legislation must receive approval from either the senate or house by march seventh or it will fail.
