Tallahassee, FL -Between February 1, 2013 and February 6, 2013, LCSO received 15 vehicle burglary reports in the areas of Longview Drive, Faulk Drive, Queenswood Drive and Shady Oaks Drive.
On February 6, 2013, the Leon County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance in identifying the subject pictured below.
After seeing the surveillance image from the initial LCSO media release, a citizen contacted LCSO and identified the suspect as 22 year old William Jacob Bithorn.
The suspect’s fingerprints were then identified in four of the reported burglaries. Detectives located Bithorn at his residence and arrested

Charges: Burglary of a Conveyance (3 counts), Armed Burglary of a Conveyance, Attempted Burglary of a Conveyance, Grand Theft of a Firearm, Grand Theft, Petit Theft and Violation of Probation
They also recovered stolen property from Bithorn’s residence, which included electronics and a firearm.
Bithorn was taken to the Leon County Jail.
This investigation is continuing and additional charges are forthcoming.

A burglar is suspected of breaking into 15 cars in a Tallahassee neighborhood since Friday and a homeowner may have caught him on surveillance camera.
Deputies say the theif is targeting unlocked cars in the Lake Jackson Heights neighborhood.
There have been cars burglarized on Longview, Queenswood, Shady Oaks and Faulk Drive. Deputies count 15 break ins since Friday.
Folks in the neighborhood say word is traveling fast.
“In the last two weeks I’d say a lot of people said people have been in and out of their vehicles at night time, one, two, three in the morning. So I talked to my neighbor down here and he said I should start locking up my car,” Nate Akambi said.
Someone captured video of a possible suspect on their home security camera. LCSO released those photos this afternoon.
All of the break ins happened at night, deputies say, and they encourage everyone to lock their car doors.

All of the vehicles were unlocked at the time of the burglaries. The suspect(s) appear to be looking for cash and other valuables. These incidents are occurring during the overnight periods.

LEON COUNTY, Fla. — A suspect accused of more than a dozen vehicle burglaries in northwest Leon County has been arrested, according to the Leon County Sheriff’s Office.
The department received 15 vehicle burglary reports in less than a week, between February 1 and February 6, 2013. The burglaries took place in the areas of Longview Drive, Faulk Drive, Queenswood Drive, and Shady Oaks Drive.
In order to catch the suspect, the sheriff’s office released surveillance photos. A resident called the office and identified the suspect as 22-year-old William Jacob Bithorn. Detectives were able to connect fingerprints from four of the burglaries to Bithorn.
Detectives found Bithorn at his home and arrested him. They also recovered stolen property from the home, which included electronics and a gun.
Bithorn was taken to the Leon County Jail. He faces three counts of burglary of a conveyance, and one count each of armed burglary of a conveyance, attempted burglary of a conveyance, grand theft of a firearm, grand theft, petit theft, and violation of probation.
Bithorn may face additional charges due to the ongoing investigation.
