Tallahassee Mayor John Marks issued a statement this afternoon on the Florida Commission on Ethics’ decision to drop charges against him.
“This has been a long and thorough process, and I’m thankful to everyone in our community who remained patient, allowing the facts of this case to be judged on their merits,” the mayor said.
“Now that these charges have been dismissed I can speak more freely about them,” he continued. “I have much more to say and look forward to discussing this further in the near future.”
Marks underwent a medical procedure earlier in the week and was resting at home today, said his chief of staff, Rick Minor. Marks did not attend the Ethics Commission meeting this morning.
