Hobbs Defeats Tamayo to Win 2nd Circuit Judge Seat

Tallahassee, FL- November  7, 2012 – In the race for Circuit 2 Judge, Barbara Hobbs unseated incumbent Josefina Tamayo.

Hobbs received more than 68000 votes. She defeated Tomaya 53 percent to 47 percent.  Tamayo was elected Circuit Judge in 2012.

Hobbs credits her Tallahassee roots and experience with helping her win the seat.

“I want to make sure that everybody who appears before me, I don’t care if they are green or have one penny in their pocket or a million dollars, they are going to have the same access to the court,” says 2nd Circuit Court Judge-Elect, Barbara Hobbs.

After a long night, Hobbs says she plans to take the rest of the day off and relax.
