Judge Josefina Tamayo Hasn’t Kept Politics Out Of Campaign

Tamayo hasn’t kept politics out of campaign

Having met the very pleasant Judge Josefina Tamayo, I can see why 13 percent of the 3,267 lawyers to whom a poll was sent voted in favor of her.

What is important in selecting a judge is that the person not only be an experienced practitioner of law, but also understand the difficulties of life, such as being a single mother and succeeding in a difficult profession. Barbara Hobbs is a good role model because she prevailed in both areas. She has been an attorney for 30 years and has practiced law in every court of the Second Circuit.

My main objection though to Judge Tamayo is that it is inappropriate for a judge to campaign in the political arena, and her having a fundraising led by Attorney General Pam Bondi and other Republicans certainly has political motivations. However, extolling in the endorsement by NRA lobbyist Marion Hammer, which Judge Tamayo displays on her web page, makes one suspicious of her impartiality on cases where guns might be involved and her political connections.

I believe that for these reasons Hobbs is the better choice.

Sorry Joe but I disagree with your thoughts on Judge Tamayo. I am a bondsman and have had first hand experiences in other counties and other areanas with the judge. I have not seen nor heard of any cases where at the end of the day politics won out over the law.
I can not say the same for too many others and all I have to offer in support of my view is the fact that I have personally re arrested in excess of 8,500 fugitives from justice and this is a close breakdown of them. Approx: 250 child molesters . Two murders, ( committed murder while on bond) one terrorist and the remaining 8000+ had an array of charges from drugs to traffic violations but in almost 1/4 of those had domestic and abuse charges.
But hey, ain’t it great that we, you and I Joe live in a country where we can express individual view points regardless if we are right or wrong?

    What a country!

    Just saying
