They almost killed one of my clients who was in pre-trial confinement. This was an FSU grad student who had been arrested, and later cleared of charges. The jail did not have the medications needed on a daily basis, so they just substituted something else they thought was “just as good” but was not effective. Luckily my client twas ransferred to the local intensive care unit at the local hospital and shackled to the bed. Unfortunately, nobody notified either his family or his attorney of the transfer and they were there 2days before I found out. The physician told me they were amazed the person survived. This was before the Rachel Hoffman case and folks were made aware of how college kids get treated by the Leon county justice system. Arrested does not mean guilty, and nobody seems to care about people in the jail.

Quotes from Peter Schweicher | From his book “Throw Them All Out”

Politicians are surrounded by wealthy friends and donors who use their access to power to enrich themselves. The crony game. Politicians have the power to extract wealth and favors based on their ability to help or harm people. Political extortion.. Government is a trust, and the officers of the government are trustees ,and the both, the trust and the trustees are created for the benefit of the people.
