FDLE has made its first arrest in a probe of financial irregularities at FAMU.
FDLE spokeswoman Gretl Plesinger says 45 year old Tammy Hamlet of Tallahassee turned herself in at the Leon county Jail Monday night and was released on her own recognizance.
Hamlet is the Director of University events. She was charged with eight counts of filing false travel claims.
Plesinger says the claims were filed between July 2010 and June 2011 and totalled $1821.41. She says the charges are misdemeanors.
Plesinger says the investigation is ongoing and could wrap up within the next few weeks. She would not comment on whether there would be any more arrests.
