SIGN BANDITS BEWARE

One would believe we live in a country that honors freedom, respect, and the good for all men.  It was once believed that the First Amendment of the Constitution actually meant something.  As I recall, it was written for the protection of speech as well as the ability to choose on ones own things like (freedom to vote for your choice of candidate) as well as, well we all would do good to read it again.

Something very alarming is occurring in this county concerning the upcoming elections.  Everything from voter intimidation to molesting of candidate’s signs.

It is quite obvious as to who the perpetrators are by viewing who’s signs are left alone by these “SIGN BANDITS”.

Over the weekend there was a rash of sign molesting that has caused concern with the residents of Leon County as some signs were defaced, destroyed and others were removed and thrown into the brush.

There have been incidents of residents and store owners that have been accosted by uniformed officers (as prior written in the Tallahassee O) for their “choice” of who they should vote for!

What’s amazing is that one of the candidates, Lisa Sprague requested and received permission from property owners to erect all of her signs.

At those very locations her signs were damaged, mutilated and/or removed while other candidates signs who have no permission to display there are intact and remain on display.

Nervy at best, but in any event, this flies in the face of what we believe to be fair and decent for a proper elections process.

Oh but “SIGN BANDITS BEWARE” as there is a South Florida Private Investigator & Bondsman, William ‘Cobra’ Staubs who has taken this personally and has deployed at undisclosed locations across the county some of the tools he utilizes in catching bail jumpers and cheaters.  Remote Cameras.  That’s right, hidden in discreet locations are spy cams that access the Internet whereby his firm Case Closed Inc. can view remotely to discover just who is behind the recent events.  In speaking to Cobra, he says “it’s quite obvious who is doing this and the clue is who’s signs remain”.  He went on to say “too easy, I just hope once we obtain the proof, there’d be some retribution”.

So word on the street and from us,
