The Tallahassee O has been researching public records from The Herald Tribune in which their newspaper obtained this information from the FDLE for complaints that the FDLE received regarding Florida Police Officers.
Our research from the Herald Tribune Police Database clearly shows that Sheriff Larry Campbell of Leon County Sheriff’s Department received a verifiable complaint to Internal Affairs.
This verifiable complaint to internal affairs was made on 10/23/1996 and closed on 11/01/1996. The complaint was substantiated because it was forwarded to the FDLE that has records of it on file.
Officers have been fired and/or arrested for making false police reports of perjury so why was no action taken when the complaint was substantiated from Internal Affairs and sent to the FDLE?
